Oxytetracycline is used to treat infections of the respiratory tract (pneumonia), urinary tract, soft tissues, and dermis. It is used for infections caused by a wide spectrum of bacteria, except that resistance is common among gram-negative bacilli of enteric origin and staphylococci.
