The typical dosage for dogs is 10–20 mg per kilogram of body weight, administered every 8 hours. For instance, a 25 kg dog may require a 500 mg tablet three times daily. The medication can be given with or without food, but if gastrointestinal upset occurs, administering it with food may help.
