Bovigil Bolus is a comprehensive multivitamin, mineral, and hepatoprotective supplement bolus formulated to support the overall health, vitality, productivity, and recovery of cattle and buffalo. Designed as a convenient once-daily oral bolus, Bovigil delivers a potent blend of essential fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins, macro-minerals, trace elements, and liver-supportive nutrients directly into the rumen ensuring reliable absorption and rapid systemic distribution. Bovigil Bolus is indicated for use during periods of nutritional deficiency, post-calving recovery, low milk yield, general debility, loss of appetite, fever recovery, and seasonal stress in dairy and draught cattle. Animeal is proud to offer Bovigil Bolus as part of its trusted range of large animal health supplements, reaffirming our commitment to accessible, quality-driven veterinary care for every animal under your care.
Composition
Each Bovigil Bolus contains a synergistic combination of:
- Vitamin A (Retinol) 50,000 IU: A fat-soluble vitamin essential for maintaining healthy epithelial tissues, mucous membranes, and immune defence; supports reproductive health, vision, and resistance to infectious disease in cattle.
- Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 5,000 IU: Regulates calcium and phosphorus absorption from the gastrointestinal tract; critical for bone mineralisation, prevention of milk fever (hypocalcaemia), and skeletal development in calves.
- Vitamin E (Alpha-tocopherol) 50 mg: A potent fat-soluble antioxidant protecting cell membranes from oxidative damage; works synergistically with selenium to support reproductive efficiency, immune function, and udder health reducing the incidence of retained placenta and mastitis.
- Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 1,000 mcg: Essential for red blood cell synthesis, neurological function, and energy metabolism via its role as a cofactor in the methylmalonyl-CoA mutase pathway; particularly important in cobalt-deficient regions where rumen microbes cannot synthesise adequate B12.
- Vitamin B-Complex (B1, B2, B6, Niacinamide, Pantothenic Acid): Water-soluble vitamins supporting carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism; promote healthy rumen function, energy production, and nerve transmission especially important in high-producing dairy cattle and animals recovering from illness.
- Calcium Carbonate 500 mg: A bioavailable source of elemental calcium; supports milk production, bone integrity, nerve conduction, and muscle function essential during the periparturient period when calcium demand peaks dramatically.
- Phosphorus (Dicalcium Phosphate) 250 mg: Works in tandem with calcium to maintain the correct Ca:P ratio for bone health, energy metabolism (ATP production), and rumen buffering.
- Magnesium Sulphate 100 mg: Supports enzymatic processes, neuromuscular function, and prevention of grass tetany (hypomagnesaemia); essential for high-yielding dairy cows on lush pasture or cereal-based diets.
- Ferrous Sulphate (Iron) 60 mg: A key component of haemoglobin and myoglobin; supports red blood cell production and oxygen transport essential for prevention and recovery from anaemia in cattle, particularly post-illness or heavy parasitic burdens.
- Copper Sulphate 20 mg: Required for iron metabolism, immune function, bone formation, pigmentation, and reproductive health; deficiency leads to poor fertility, rough coat, and reduced growth in cattle.
- Zinc Sulphate 50 mg: Supports immune function, wound healing, hoof integrity, and reproductive performance; a common limiting trace element in Indian cattle diets.
- Cobalt Chloride 1 mg: Essential for rumen microbial synthesis of Vitamin B12; deficiency causes wasting, anaemia, and poor growth, particularly in grazing cattle on cobalt-deficient soils.
- Selenium (Sodium Selenite) 0.5 mg: Works with Vitamin E to protect cells from oxidative damage; deficiency causes white muscle disease in calves, retained placenta, and poor immune response in dairy cattle.
- Liver Extract / Silymarin (Hepatoprotective): Supports liver cell regeneration, detoxification function, and recovery from hepatotoxin exposure; particularly valuable in animals recovering from disease, prolonged antibiotic use, or high-grain feeding stress.
- Excipients q.s.: Pharmaceutical-grade binders and lubricants ensuring bolus integrity, palatability, and consistent dissolution in the rumen environment.
