About Product

Cresp 40mcg Injection, a Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. product, is a frequently prescribed erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) used to treat anaemia, especially in patients receiving chemotherapy or those with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The active ingredient, Darbepoetin alfa, is a hyperglycosylated synthetic form of erythropoietin (EPO) that stimulates red blood cell production by binding to EPO receptors on haematopoietic cells, resulting in the survival, differentiation, proliferation, and maturation of red blood cells.  Cresp is supplied in sterile, preservative-free, non-pyrogenic single-dose vials and pre-filled syringes, with the 40mcg vial being one of the most commonly prescribed doses for anaemia management in adult patients with CKD and chemotherapy-induced anaemia. Animeal takes pride in offering only the finest, clinically proven pharmaceutical products that reflect our deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of every customer we serve.

Composition:

Darbepoetin Alfa (rDNA origin): 40 mcg

Excipients (Sterile, Preservative-Free Buffer): Q.S.

Features and Benefits

Stimulates Red Blood Cell Production: Cresp 40m...

Stimulates Red Blood Cell Production: Cresp 40mcg Injection contains the protein Darbepoetin alfa, which works by providing signals to the bone marrow to make more red blood cells directly addressing the root cause of anaemia by restoring the body's ability to produce sufficient red blood cells and haemoglobin.

Treats Anaemia in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): In chronic kidney disease, when the kidney fails to produce sufficient erythropoietin protein which aids in the formation of red blood cells, Cresp 40mcg Injection stimulates the production of this protein in the bone marrow restoring red blood cell levels and relieving debilitating anaemia symptoms in CKD patients on and off dialysis.

Treats Chemotherapy-Induced Anaemia: Cresp 40mcg Injection helps cancer patients maintain adequate haemoglobin levels during chemotherapy treatment reducing the need for blood transfusions and improving the patient's energy levels and quality of life throughout the course of cancer treatment.

Extended Half-Life Less Frequent Dosing: Increased glycosylation is responsible for the increased half-life of Darbepoetin alfa. Subcutaneously administered Darbepoetin alfa has a half-life two to three times longer than that of recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) at approximately allowing physicians to dose less frequently while maintaining an equivalent biological response for CKD and oncology patients.

Clinically Equivalent to rHuEPO with Superior Convenience: Results from clinical studies in patients with chronic renal failure have shown that Darbepoetin alfa is equivalent to rHuEPO in terms of onset of action, increases in haemoglobin concentration, and percentage of patients achieving target haemoglobin concentration, although Darbepoetin alfa is administered less frequently once weekly or every other week.

Measurable Improvement in 2–6 Weeks: Patients will be able to notice an increase in the count of red blood cells (haemoglobin levels) in 2 to 6 weeks of starting Cresp 40 Injection providing measurable, tangible relief from anaemia symptoms including fatigue, weakness, breathlessness, and pallor within a clinically meaningful timeframe.

Improves Quality of Life: By addressing anaemia and its associated symptoms, Cresp 40 Injection can enhance the overall wellbeing and quality of life for individuals undergoing treatment for chronic kidney disease or cancer helping patients feel stronger, more active, and significantly better during their treatment journey.

Sterile, Preservative-Free Single-Dose Vial: Cresp is supplied in sterile, preservative-free, non-pyrogenic single-dose vials ensuring maximum safety, sterility, and precision dosing with zero risk of preservative-related adverse reactions for every injection administered.
