LEVOCET M TABLET is an oral tablet formulation containing two active pharmacological agents Levocetirizine and Montelukast working in combination to deliver comprehensive antiallergic and anti-inflammatory relief. Each tablet is film-coated for easy swallowing and is to be administered orally as prescribed by a registered veterinarian. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and must not be crushed, chewed, or broken. It is a prescription (Rx) medicine and must only be used under direct veterinary supervision.
LEVOCET M TABLET contains the following active pharmaceutical ingredients:
- Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride 5 mg: a second-generation antihistamine and the active R-enantiomer of Cetirizine. It works as a highly selective inverse agonist at histamine H1 receptors, blocking the action of histamine the chemical released by the body during allergic reactions that causes itching, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and skin inflammation. Levocetirizine provides rapid, potent, and long-acting relief from these allergy symptoms with minimal sedation
- Montelukast Sodium 10 mg: a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) that blocks cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors in the airways and nasal passages. Leukotrienes are inflammatory chemicals released during allergic reactions that cause airway swelling, mucus production, and bronchoconstriction. By blocking leukotrienes, Montelukast reduces nasal and airway inflammation, improves breathing, and helps manage allergy-related respiratory symptoms
