Aranex Mytolic Ear Treatment Drop is a veterinary-grade, topical otic solution by Aranex, specifically formulated to treat and control ear infestations caused by mites, lice, flea larvae, moths, and flies in dogs and cats. Ear mites (Otodectes cynotis) are among the most distressing parasitic conditions your canine companion or feline friend can experience triggering relentless itching, head shaking, dark waxy discharge, and, if left untreated, secondary bacterial or yeast infections that can compromise the integrity of the ear canal entirely. Mytolic Ear Treatment Drop targets this problem at its root with a clinically effective, synergistic anti-parasitic formula that eliminates both adult parasites and their eggs, offering your pet meaningful, lasting relief. Animeal is proud to offer Aranex Mytolic Ear Treatment Drop as part of its curated range of trusted veterinary therapeutics.
Ingredients:
Pyrethrins (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium extract): Pyrethrins are naturally derived insecticidal compounds extracted from the flowers of Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium. At the neurological level, pyrethrins act by binding to voltage-gated sodium channels in the nerve cell membranes of parasites, preventing the channels from closing after activation. This leads to repetitive, uncontrolled nerve firing, resulting in rapid paralysis and death of the target organism mites, lice, and insect larvae without a comparable effect on mammals due to differences in body temperature, metabolic detoxification capacity, and sodium channel sensitivity. Pyrethrins are fast-acting and clinically recognised as a preferred contact insecticide for otic use in companion animals.
Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO): Piperonyl butoxide is a synthetic synergist, meaning it does not kill parasites on its own but dramatically amplifies the lethal potency of pyrethrins. PBO functions by inhibiting cytochrome P450 monooxygenase enzymes in the parasite's hepatic and gut tissues the very enzymes that would otherwise metabolise and detoxify pyrethrins. By blocking this detoxification pathway, PBO ensures that pyrethrin molecules remain active within the parasite's system for a prolonged period, resulting in far greater insecticidal efficacy at lower pyrethrin concentrations. This synergistic combination delivers a broader anti-parasitic spectrum and significantly reduces the risk of resistance development.
