Petsoliv-F Pet Syrup is a comprehensive hepatoprotective and haematinic supplement formulated to address the interconnected clinical challenges of liver dysfunction, nutritional deficiency anaemia, poor appetite, and systemic debility in dogs, cats, and pet birds. Each carefully measured 30ml dose delivers a synergistic combination of dual-source iron supplementation through Ferrous Gluconate and Ferrous Chloride, the full B-complex vitamin spectrum through Thiamine Hydrochloride, Riboflavine, Nicotinic Acid, and Nicotinamide, Calcium Lactate for musculoskeletal support, and the concentrated bioactive power of Liver Fraction 2, a standardised liver extract derived from 3.75g of fresh liver per dose that provides a rich matrix of haematinic factors, intrinsic factor analogues, and hepatoprotective co-factors found only in animal-source liver tissue. Delivered in a palatable flavoured syrup base for reliable voluntary acceptance across species and life stages, Petsoliv-F targets liver health at the enzymatic and cellular level while simultaneously correcting the multi-nutrient deficiencies that accompany chronic hepatic disease, bacterial and viral hepatitis, convalescence, and hypochromic anaemia. Animeal is proud to offer Petsoliv-F Pet Syrup as a trusted hepatoprotective and haematinic supplement for the informed and caring pet parent.
Ingredients:
Ferrous Gluconate (200mg per 30ml): Ferrous Gluconate is the organic iron salt of gluconic acid and serves as the primary iron source in Petsoliv-F. In bioavailable ferrous (Fe2+) form, iron is absorbed across the intestinal epithelium via the divalent metal transporter DMT-1 and incorporated into haemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein of red blood cells, and myoglobin, the oxygen-storage protein of skeletal and cardiac muscle. At the cellular level, iron is also an essential component of the cytochrome P450 enzyme family located in hepatic microsomes, which are responsible for the oxidative biotransformation of drugs, toxins, and metabolic waste products. Iron deficiency impairs both erythropoiesis and hepatic detoxification capacity; Ferrous Gluconate in Petsoliv-F corrects this deficiency while being significantly gentler on the gastrointestinal mucosa than inorganic iron salts such as ferrous sulphate.
Ferrous Chloride (80mg per 30ml): Ferrous Chloride provides a complementary second source of bioavailable iron in a different salt form, ensuring a broader and more sustained iron-replenishment profile than a single-source formulation. The dual-iron approach maximises haematinic efficacy in severely deficient or chronically anaemic patients by delivering iron through slightly different solubility and absorption kinetics, thereby increasing the total quantity of bioavailable iron reaching the erythropoietic cells of the bone marrow for red blood cell synthesis.
Thiamine Hydrochloride, Vitamin B1 (5mg per 30ml): Thiamine Hydrochloride is the water-soluble, bioavailable form of Vitamin B1, a B-complex vitamin that functions as the essential cofactor for pyruvate dehydrogenase, alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, and transketolase, three enzymes central to carbohydrate metabolism and the Krebs cycle. In the liver specifically, Thiamine is required for the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA, the entry point of glucose-derived carbon into oxidative phosphorylation for ATP generation. Thiamine deficiency is associated with impaired hepatic energy metabolism, peripheral neuropathy, and anorexia; its inclusion in Petsoliv-F supports hepatocyte energy production and nerve function during periods of hepatic stress and recovery.
Riboflavine, Vitamin B2 (3mg per 30ml): Riboflavine is the precursor of flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD), the two redox coenzymes essential to the electron transport chain and the beta-oxidation of fatty acids within hepatic mitochondria. In the liver, FAD and FMN-dependent enzymes play a central role in oxidative phosphorylation and in the regeneration of glutathione, the primary hepatic antioxidant. Riboflavine deficiency impairs hepatic fatty acid metabolism, contributes to fatty liver disease, and reduces the liver's capacity for oxidative detoxification; supplemental Riboflavine in Petsoliv-F restores these critical pathways and supports cellular energy production across all organ systems.
Nicotinic Acid, Vitamin B3 (20mg per 30ml): Nicotinic Acid is the precursor of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and its phosphate form (NADP+), the primary hydride-transfer coenzymes involved in over 400 enzymatic reactions in the body, including glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, beta-oxidation, and the urea cycle. In the liver, NAD+ is critically required for the oxidation of ethanol, fatty acids, and amino acids, and its deficiency directly impairs the liver's capacity to process and detoxify circulating metabolites. At higher concentrations, Nicotinic Acid also exerts a mild hepatoprotective effect by reducing hepatic triglyceride synthesis and promoting the release of accumulated lipid from hepatocytes, making it particularly relevant in the management of fatty liver conditions.
Nicotinamide, Vitamin B3 (Amide Form) (45mg per 30ml): Nicotinamide is the amide form of Vitamin B3 and the direct precursor for NAD+ synthesis via the salvage pathway, providing a complementary route to NAD+ replenishment alongside Nicotinic Acid. Unlike Nicotinic Acid, Nicotinamide does not cause the vasodilatory flushing associated with high-dose niacin, making it the preferred form for oral supplementation in companion animals. Nicotinamide also plays a specific role in DNA repair through its role as a substrate for poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), supporting the repair of oxidative DNA damage in hepatocytes under inflammatory or toxic stress.
Calcium Lactate (300mg per 30ml): Calcium Lactate is a highly bioavailable organic calcium salt that provides a readily absorbed source of elemental calcium for musculoskeletal support during periods of debility, convalescence, and nutritional depletion. Calcium plays a critical role in intracellular signalling within hepatocytes, regulating apoptosis, cell proliferation, and the secretory functions of the liver. In anorexic or debilitated pets that have reduced dietary calcium intake, Calcium Lactate supplementation prevents hypocalcaemia-related complications including muscle weakness, neuromuscular irritability, and impaired bone density during recovery.
Liver Fraction 2 (150mg per 30ml, derived from 3.75g of fresh liver): Liver Fraction 2 is a concentrated, standardised extract of fresh animal liver that contains a naturally occurring complex of haematinic factors, including the intrinsic factor analogue essential for cobalamin (Vitamin B12) absorption, cyanocobalamin itself, folic acid, and a spectrum of hepatoprotective peptides and protein co-factors found exclusively in liver tissue. At the physiological level, the haematinic factors in Liver Fraction 2 work synergistically with the supplemental iron in Petsoliv-F to accelerate erythropoiesis in the bone marrow, correct macrocytic and hypochromic anaemia, and restore haemoglobin synthesis in deficient patients. Simultaneously, the hepatoprotective peptides in the liver extract support hepatocyte regeneration, improve the efficiency of hepatic microsomal enzymes involved in detoxification, and provide a bioavailable matrix of growth factors that support tissue repair in damaged liver parenchyma. Liver Fraction 2 also serves as a powerful natural appetite stimulant through its inherent palatability and the metabolic signalling of its bioactive protein fractions on central appetite regulatory pathways.
