SAFELOX OD BOLUS

Broad-Spectrum Bactericidal Action: Safelox OD targets and eliminates a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria including E. coli, Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella spp., Mannheimia haemolytica, Salmonella spp. and selected Gram-positive organisms including Staphylococcus aureus and Mycoplasma spp.

Once-Daily Dosing (OD Formula): The 200mg bolus strength is engineered for single daily administration in large animals, reducing handling stress, improving compliance, and simplifying treatment protocols on farm.

Rapid Absorption & Tissue Penetration: Enrofloxacin is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and distributes into all major body tissues and fluids including lungs, kidneys, skin, uterus, and joints achieving therapeutic concentrations within 1 to 2 hours of dosing.

Dual Elimination Pathway: Eliminated via both renal and hepatic routes, allowing effective use even in animals with mildly compromised kidney function without significant dosage adjustment.

Targets Multiple Infection Sites: Clinically effective for respiratory tract infections (BRD), gastrointestinal infections, urinary tract infections, mastitis (E. coli-associated), Mycoplasma-induced arthritis in calves, metritis, and skin/wound infections.

How to Use

Administer Safelox OD orally as a bolus. Ensure accurate body weight measurement before dosing to prevent underdosing or adverse effects.

Recommended Dosage (as directed by a veterinarian):

Cattle/Buffalo 5 mg/kg body weight Once daily 3–5 days

Calves 5 mg/kg body weight Once daily 3–5 days

Sheep/Goats 5 mg/kg body weight Once daily3 days

Pigs 2.5 mg/kg body weight Once daily 3 days

Treatment should continue for at least 2–3 days beyond the cessation of clinical signs. Maximum duration of therapy is 30 days. Always follow the dosage schedule as prescribed by your registered veterinarian.

Contraindications:

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones.
• Avoid use in young, growing animals due to risk of articular cartilage damage.
• Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals unless explicitly directed by a veterinarian.
• Do not use concurrently with antacids, iron supplements, or calcium-rich feed as these may reduce drug absorption.

Do not use in animals producing milk for human consumption unless the stated withdrawal period can be strictly observed.

Storage Advice

Store Safelox OD boluses in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and non-target animals. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging. Ensure packaging is properly resealed after each use.
