How to Use:

UDCAK9-150 must be administered only under the prescription and supervision of a registered veterinarian. Tablets may be given directly by mouth, concealed in a small amount of food, or administered using a pill popper. Tablets should ideally be given at the same time each day to maintain consistent plasma levels. Do not crush or break the film-coated tablet unless specifically directed by your veterinarian the film coat protects both the active ingredient and aids palatability.

Contraindications:

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to Ursodeoxycholic Acid or any other bile acid compound.
• Do not use in animals with acute cholecystitis, biliary obstruction, or bile duct occlusion UDCA requires patent biliary drainage to exert its therapeutic effect safely.
• Do not use in animals with radio-opaque (calcium-rich, pigment, or mixed) gallstones UDCA is effective only against cholesterol-rich, radiolucent stones and is ineffective against calcium bilirubinate or pigment stones.
• Avoid concurrent use with cholestyramine, aluminium-containing antacids, or activated charcoal these agents bind UDCA in the gastrointestinal tract and significantly reduce its absorption and bioavailability.
• Use with caution alongside oral contraceptive medications or oestrogen-based hormone therapies these may reduce the cholesterol-lowering efficacy of UDCA within bile.
• Not recommended for use in pregnant animals unless specifically directed by a veterinarian after careful risk-benefit assessment.

Storage Advice:

Store UDCAK9-150 film-coated tablets at room temperature between 15°C and 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat. Keep in original strip packaging until immediately before use to protect tablets from moisture exposure and maintain film coat integrity. Keep out of reach of children and non-target animals at all times. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the strip or outer carton.
