About Product
VOMIKIND INJECTION 10ML is a sterile injectable solution containing Ondansetron Hydrochloride 2 mg/ml as its active ingredient, manufactured by Mankind Pharmaceuticals one of India's most trusted pharmaceutical companies. Each 10ml vial contains a total of 20 mg of Ondansetron, providing multiple doses as determined by your veterinarian. The injection is administered by a licensed veterinarian or trained veterinary professional in a clinical or hospital setting either intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) and is not intended for self-administration at home. It is a prescription (Rx) medicine and must only be used under direct veterinary supervision.
Ingredients:
- Ondansetron Hydrochloride 2 mg/ml (Active Ingredient): a highly selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. Ondansetron works by blocking 5-HT3 receptors located in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) of the brain and along the gastrointestinal tract. These receptors, when activated by serotonin, send signals to the vomiting centre of the brain, triggering nausea and retching. By blocking these receptors, Ondansetron cuts off the signal pathway at its source rapidly suppressing nausea and stopping vomiting at the neurological level
- Water for Injections (Aqua Pro Injectione): sterile pharmaceutical-grade water used as the solvent carrier for the active ingredient
- Sodium Chloride: included to achieve an isotonic solution that is compatible with the body's fluid balance and safe for intravenous administration
- Citric Acid and Sodium Citrate: buffering agents that maintain the pH of the solution within a safe and stable range for injection use

Rapid-onset antiemetic action: Ondansetron begins working within 30 minutes of administration, providing fast relief from acute nausea and vomiting episodes
Dual-site mechanism: acts on both the brain's chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and the gastrointestinal serotonin receptors simultaneously for comprehensive antiemetic control
Controls vomiting when oral medications are not possible: the injectable form is essential when pets are vomiting too severely to retain any oral medicine, making it the first line of choice in emergency and hospitalisation settings
Prevents life-threatening dehydration: by stopping vomiting, the injection allows the body to begin retaining fluids and nutrients, preventing dangerous dehydration and electrolyte imbalance
Used in post-surgical recovery: helps manage post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after anaesthesia and surgical procedures in dogs and cats
Supports recovery from parvovirus and serious GI illness: widely used by veterinarians as a critical supportive treatment in parvovirus cases, haemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE), pancreatitis, and other severe gastrointestinal conditions
Supports oncology patients: helps manage chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in pets undergoing cancer treatment, allowing them to maintain nutrition and quality of life
Minimal sedation: unlike older antiemetics, Ondansetron does not cause significant sedation or CNS depression, keeping your pet alert and comfortable during recovery
