About Wahl KM10 Professional Clipper
Thick, matted or double coats can stall an ordinary clipper and leave a groom half done. Wahl KM10 is Wahl's top corded professional clipper for dogs, cats and other animals, built around a brushless motor that runs cooler and quieter with more power and torque.
It has two speeds, 3,000 and 3,700 strokes per minute, and Constant Speed Control that keeps the blade moving at the same speed even in heavy coat. At 12.3 ounces it is lighter than the KM5, which helps on long grooming days.
The KM10 uses Wahl's detachable blade system and comes with a #10 Ultimate Competition Series blade and blade oil. Wahl gives it a five-year limited warranty and positions it for professional groomers and vets.

Features and Benefits
- Brushless motor. Runs cooler, quieter and with more torque than a standard rotary motor.

Choosing a Blade
| Blade | Cut length | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| #10 | About 1.5mm | Body, legs, hygiene areas and paw pads. Included with the clipper. |
| #40 | About 0.25mm | Surgical prep and the closest possible clip. |
Higher blade numbers cut shorter. Wahl sells other detachable blades and comb attachments for longer lengths.
How to Use
- Before you start. Bathe and fully dry the coat, then brush out tangles. Clipping dirty coat dulls the blade fast.
- Oil the blade. Add a few drops of blade oil before and during use.
- Clip with the coat. Work in the direction of hair growth for a smooth finish. Keep the blade flat against the skin.
- Check heat. Touch the blade often. Swap or cool it if it feels warm, to avoid clipper burn.
- Double coats. Breeds with a thick undercoat, such as Huskies and German Shepherds, are usually brushed and thinned rather than clipped short. Ask a groomer before shaving a double coat.
- Clean after use. Brush out hair, clean the blade, oil it and store it in its guard.
Safety and Precautions
- Blade heat. Hot blades can burn skin. Check the blade every few minutes.
- Thin skin. Take extra care over skin folds, armpits, ears and belly.
- Electrical safety. Keep the clipper and cord away from water. Unplug when changing blades.
