Ingredients:
Ofloxacin (Ofloxacinum) 100mg per 5ml:Ofloxacin is a second-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal action through dual inhibition of two critical bacterial enzymes: DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. By binding to and stabilising the enzyme-DNA complex, Ofloxacin introduces lethal double-strand breaks into the bacterial chromosome, effectively halting all replication and leading to rapid cell death. Unlike bacteriostatic agents that merely suppress growth, Ofloxacin is bactericidal, meaning it actively destroys the pathogen rather than waiting for the immune system to clear it. Its high oral bioavailability and excellent penetration into deep tissues, body fluids, bone, and lung parenchyma make it particularly effective for infections in hard-to-reach anatomical sites. Ofloxacin demonstrates activity against most Gram-negative bacteria (including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa), many Gram-positive bacteria (including Staphylococcus aureus), and select anaerobic organisms, providing genuinely broad-spectrum coverage.
