Onfyte Multi-Infection Shampoo by Aranex is a clinically formulated, medicated veterinary shampoo that delivers dual-action antibacterial and antifungal therapy directly to the skin and coat of your canine or feline companion, targeting the full spectrum of superficial dermatological infections that disrupt skin health, comfort, and coat quality. Combining the proven antimicrobial potency of Chlorhexidine Gluconate with the broad-spectrum antifungal activity of Ketoconazole in a pH-balanced, paraben-free, and alcohol-free base, Onfyte Shampoo is specifically designed to address infected wounds and cuts, eczema, dermatitis, pyoderma, ringworm, and idiopathic skin conditions that make your pet's daily life uncomfortable. What distinguishes Onfyte from standard medicated shampoos is its proprietary Unique Drug Depot Technology, which prolongs the retention of active ingredients at the skin surface after rinsing, extending antimicrobial contact time well beyond the bath and reinforcing the therapeutic benefit between applications. Dermatologically tested and formulated in India for the climatic and infectious challenges specific to the Indian subcontinent, Onfyte Multi-Infection Shampoo is a thoughtful, science-driven solution for pet parents managing skin infections in their beloved companions. Animeal is proud to offer Onfyte Multi-Infection Shampoo as part of its curated range of veterinary-grade topical dermatological solutions.
Ingredients:
Chlorhexidine Gluconate (Chlorhexidini Gluconas):Chlorhexidine gluconate is one of the most extensively studied and widely deployed topical antiseptics in both human and veterinary medicine, valued for its reliable broad-spectrum activity against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, and yeast species including Malassezia pachydermatis, the most common fungal pathogen of canine skin. Its mechanism of action is both multifaceted and highly effective: the chlorhexidine cation carries a strong positive charge that enables it to interact electrostatically with the negatively charged phospholipid groups in microbial cell walls and membranes. At bacteriostatic concentrations, this electrostatic binding disrupts cell membrane permeability, causing leakage of intracellular components. At bactericidal concentrations, chlorhexidine causes complete cytoplasmic membrane collapse and coagulation of intracellular proteins, resulting in rapid and irreversible microbial cell death. A defining and clinically critical property of chlorhexidine is its substantivity, meaning that even after rinsing, it binds to the stratum corneum of the skin and hair shaft surfaces and continues to exert antimicrobial activity for hours to days. This substantive residual effect is substantially enhanced by Onfyte's proprietary Unique Drug Depot Technology, creating a sustained drug reservoir at the skin surface that reinforces protection between shampoo sessions. Chlorhexidine is active against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Staphylococcus aureus, the gram-positive organisms most commonly implicated in canine pyoderma, as well as gram-negative pathogens including Pseudomonas and Escherichia species that can colonise moist, inflamed skin in dogs and cats.
Ketoconazole (Ketoconazolum):Ketoconazole is a synthetic imidazole antifungal agent with clinically established activity against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and polymorphic fungi that colonise the skin surface and hair follicles of companion animals. Its antifungal mechanism is highly selective and operates at the level of fungal membrane biosynthesis. Ketoconazole inhibits the cytochrome P-450 enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, a fungal-specific enzyme that catalyses a critical step in the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, the principal structural sterol of the fungal cell membrane. By blocking ergosterol synthesis, ketoconazole causes the accumulation of toxic methylated sterol precursors within the fungal cell membrane, leading to disruption of membrane fluidity and integrity, increased permeability, leakage of intracellular contents, and ultimately fungal cell death. Ketoconazole's topical antifungal spectrum includes Malassezia pachydermatis responsible for yeast dermatitis and otitis, Microsporum canis and Trichophyton mentagrophytes responsible for ringworm (dermatophytosis), Candida species, and Aspergillus species. Clinical research confirms that ketoconazole demonstrates enhanced antifungal activity against dermatophytes and Malassezia when formulated in combination with chlorhexidine, as the two agents act synergistically on fungal cell architecture through complementary and mutually reinforcing mechanisms.
Unique Drug Depot Technology:Onfyte's proprietary Unique Drug Depot Technology is a formulation innovation that addresses one of the key limitations of conventional medicated shampoos: the fact that thorough rinsing reduces the duration of active ingredient contact with skin to only the wash period itself. The Drug Depot Technology creates a controlled-release depot of the active antimicrobial agents within the stratum corneum and hair follicle orifices, allowing Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Ketoconazole to continue diffusing into the cutaneous microenvironment for an extended period after rinsing. This prolonged post-rinse delivery substantially increases the cumulative antimicrobial exposure of skin pathogens between bathing sessions, supporting faster resolution of infection, greater reduction of microbial load with each application, and a more sustained protective barrier against recolonisation.
pH-Balanced, Paraben-Free, Alcohol-Free Base:The shampoo base is formulated to maintain a pH compatible with the canine and feline skin surface, typically slightly more acidic than human skin and distinct from the near-neutral pH of many human-formulated shampoos. A pH-balanced formulation prevents disruption of the skin's acid mantle, preserving the natural antimicrobial and moisture-retaining function of the epidermal barrier during and after treatment. The deliberate exclusion of parabens and alcohol addresses two common sources of skin sensitisation and barrier disruption in medicated pet shampoos, making Onfyte an appropriate choice for pets with already compromised, inflamed, or hypersensitive skin where additional chemical irritation would impede rather than support recovery.
