How to Use:

Alembic Milbecidal 2.5mg is a prescription veterinary antiparasitic that should ideally be administered under veterinary guidance. The tablet may be offered to the dog by hand or added to a small amount of dog food. The chewable should be administered in a manner that encourages the dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. Chewables may be broken into pieces and fed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole. Care should be taken that the dog consumes the complete dose, and treated animals should be observed for a few minutes after administration to ensure that no part of the dose is lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.

Important Care Notes:

• Administer with or immediately after food to maximise absorption and reduce the likelihood of gastrointestinal upset.
• Do not use in puppies less than six weeks of age.Do not use in puppies weighing less than 0.5 kg.
• Collie, Bobtail, and Sheltie puppies are given the drug under strict supervision of a veterinarian these breeds carry an MDR1/ABCB1 gene mutation that increases sensitivity to macrocyclic lactones.
• Do not use in dogs with kidney and liver diseases.
• Do not use in emaciated or sick puppies with infectious diseases.
• The use of Milbecidal in conjunction with other macrocyclic lactones is prohibited.
• For puppies in heartworm-endemic regions, a preliminary blood test to exclude the presence of adult heartworm microfilariae is advisable before commencing monthly Milbecidal use mild, transient hypersensitivity reactions have been noted in some dogs treated with milbemycin oxime carrying a high number of circulating microfilariae.

Storage Advice:
Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in original blister packaging until immediately before use. Keep out of reach of children and other pets. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
